The DOVER FOODBANK is busier than ever at the moment. During the last 12 months (to end of June 2020) they provided three days’ worth of support sufficient for 4,112 people, 37% of whom were children. These past few months have been the busiest ever in terms of the number of people supported. Thanks to everyone for making this possible.
The volunteers are continuing to provide a delivery-only service – in one week they sent out 43 deliveries of food in order to support 110 people.
Some of the usual donation points continue to be unavailable but people have taken it upon themselves to encourage their neighbours to donate and have provided local donation or collection points in at least three local areas, and then delivered to the Foodbank warehouse or arranged for a pick up – perhaps this is something you would like to consider for your local area? You can bring donations to our shop at Unit 7, Charlton Centre, Dover CT16 1TT.
If you want to donate where you shop there are donation points at the Co-op Stores on Crabble Hill and at Lower Road in River, as well as Morrisons, Tesco Whitfield, La Salle Verte in Cannon Street, Associate Barbers, and Nationwide in Biggin Street, Dover – please see the Foodbank website for a full list. As usual we are happy to collect and also for people to deliver to our warehouse during our opening times – do please contact us to check first.
